How to Print a map.army Tactical Map at the Correct Scale

This guide explains how to print your current project in map.army .

Open Print & Export

  1. Click the Print & Export button Print & Export button in the toolbar.

Choose Print

  1. Select the Print option.
  2. Adjust page size, orientation, and scale as needed.

Print

  1. Use your browser’s print dialog to select the printer or save as PDF.
  2. For best results, set margins to None and enable Background graphics.

Tip: Use landscape orientation for wide maps.

Verify the printed scale

If you need a specific map scale (for example 1 : 25 000 with a 1 000 m grid), the most common cause of inaccurate printed grid squares is the browser or printer dialog automatically shrinking the document to fit the page:

  • In the browser print dialog, set Page Scaling (or “Scale”) to None / 100 % — not “Fit to printable area” or “Shrink to fit”. Some printer drivers expose the same option as “Fit to page” — turn it off.
  • Disable any margin auto-shrink in the printer driver (often shown as “Borderless” or “Auto”).
  • Verify on the printout itself: use the on-map scale bar or measure a known grid square against a scale ruler (such as a Pickett roamer).
