map.army Compatibility — Browser & OS Requirements
The page lists the minimum requirments and browser compatibility for the modern web application.
What this page is, and is not
The versions below are the platforms map.army is supported on — the combinations gs-soft tests and stands behind. They are a support statement, not something the application enforces: map.army does not check your browser against a list and refuse to start, so an untested browser will usually load and may simply misbehave in ways nobody has characterised.
There are, however, a handful of specific cases the app does detect and act on:
| Case | What happens |
|---|---|
| Opening a link inside Facebook’s in-app browser | Refused, with a message telling you to open the address in a real browser |
| Some Xiaomi devices | Warned before a download, because the built-in download manager can corrupt the file |
| iOS and iPadOS | The 3D view is unavailable; the button explains why |
| iOS with Safari 12 or older | Saving and loading MilX files locally is blocked; use a share link, or a desktop browser |
| Internet Explorer, or Edge before 79 | The in-app tutorials do not run |
| Browsers other than Chromium-based ones | The working-directory picker is simply absent, with no message |
